I have been developing the digital collections and applications at the University of Idaho Library since 2010. We have added 50+ collections and increased traffic to our sites by over 800% during that time.
Sites are currently built using jekyll-based static site generators that are produced using a config and a csv file.
Sites were first built using customized XSLT stylesheets to transform generated XML files into different HTML representations
We are transitioning older sites to the newer layouts over the course of this next semester. The tool we are using to do so will also be presented at the 2018 DLF conference.
Users are able to view each collection in several different ways, from image galleries to interactive maps. Here are links to some examples:
